FALL CORN FESTIVAL

This annual fall corn festival includes cornhusk doll making, corn shucking contests, a corn cookoff, craft show, antique tractor displays, vintage food and craft vendors, the Great Godfrey Corn Maze and helicopter rides over the maze.

MOONLIGHT HIKE

Join a trained Sierra Club volunteer and take a leisurely moonlit hike through the Mississippi Sanctuary, a 37-acre area of grand vistas and spectacular scenery, including waterfalls and wildlife. After the hour long hike there will be free snacks and beverages on the porch at Talahi Lodge.

SNOWFLAKE FESTIVAL

Visit beautiful Glazebrook Park as it is lit up with lights to celebrate the season. Everyone is invited to attend this free old-fashioned festival with carolers, hot cocoa, carriage rides, and pictures with Santa.

EAGLES ON THE BLUFFS

The Nature Institute

The TNI staff will provide a short program on eagle ecology and then lead a guided hike to look for eagles in their natural element. Afterwards there will be chili, hotdogs, and hot chocolate. Children can make and take home eagle crafts. Dress warm, bring binoculars, scopes, and a camera. In case of bad weather the program will be rescheduled.

Every spring thousands of birds migrate north along the Mississippi River Flyway back to their summer homes and representatives from The Nature Institute and naturalist and avid birder, Edna Alexander, will lead guided hikes to identify the many species that stop off at the Olin Preserve. Dress for the weather, wear good hiking shoes, and bring binoculars and drinking water.
