ART EXHIBIT
Michael, IL
  Through October 26, 2014
Friday - Sunday: 11 am - 6 pm
Stone Bridge Valley Art Center, Highway 100, 7 miles north of Hardin, Calhoun County

Kim Dublo - Beyond the Garden: Kim’s combined her two interests, pumpkin painting and wood carving into one after attending a gourd festival in 2002. Living along the Mississippi River, Kim has plenty of inspiration from nature for her gourd art. She allows the organic simplicity of the gourd to become part of the overall design. Because she loves texture, Kim carves and burns her design into the gourd. Sometimes using multiple layers to complete her piece, she combines oils, acrylics, pencils, waxes, and stains to achieve her vision for each gourd.
