FRONTIER DAYS Hamburg, IL		Saturday, September 19, 2009 10 am - 4 pm Village Park Attractions at this annual festival include Craft & Flea Market tables, Cake Walk, 50/50 Raffle, plus a Prize Raffle with lots of prizes! For food and refreshments enjoy the fish fry & fried chicken as well as pies, cakes, and cookies. Live music will on hand for entertainment, so bring your lawn chairs and enjoy the fun in this quaint village on the banks of the Mississippi River! OLD SETTLERS DAYS Kampsville, IL		October 10 - October 11, 2009 10 am - 5 pm daily Riverside Park This event on the banks of the Illinois River depicts the life and times of the early Calhoun settlers. Civil War re-enactment, carriage rides, fiddle contest, mountain-man activities, apple-butter making and other period demonstrations, food, crafts, and live entertainment. QUILT & CHURCH TOUR Calhoun County, IL		PROBABLE EVENT - DETAILS TBA October, 2009 10 am - 4 pm Residents of Calhoun County will be displaying their beautiful quilts at three historic churches along with "A County for All Seasons" photo gallery, and a Tri-County Antique Club display. Despite the weather there are still plenty of birds out there, Join professional birder Johanna Shipley for a slow paced mile walk to see how many birds you can identify, Afterwards there will be coffee, hot chocolate, and cookies. This event is in part supported by a grant from the Illinois Humanities Council, the Illinois General Assembly, and the National Endowment for the Humanities.
