Missouri Botanical Gardens continues a cherished tradition, which
inspires interest in the Victorian era and its connections to Henry

country home of Garden founder Henry Shaw for the season with
wreaths, garland, floral centerpieces, greenery and a holiday tree.
Younger visitors can look for old-fashioned toys hidden throughout
the house and will receive a coloring book titled “A Cold Winter’s
Evening in Shaw’s Garden” based on Clement C. Moore’s popular poem
‘Twas the Night before Christmas, which was written in 1823.

Holidays” house tour. Seven charming homes in this historic village
will be on display, festively decorated for the holiday season from
3:00 to 5:45. In addition, two bed and breakfast inns, the village’s
two churches featuring special music, the Elsah Museum, and 19th
century Farley’s Music Hall will be open for the tour. The tour will
be followed by an old fashioned caroling procession from the river
to Selma Square where the tree lighting will take place at 6:30 pm.
