TUNES AT TWILIGHT

Common Pleas Courthouse Gazebo, Lorimier and Broadway

Tunes at Twilight is an award winning outdoor concert series organized by the Old Town Cape organization and held on Friday nights. The series provides a free hour long concert for 6 weeks in the spring and 6 weeks in the fall. In case of rain, the indoor location will be at Rose Theater on the campus of Southeast Missouri State University.

Historic Downtown St. Charles District
North Main Street is closed off for the evening for this fourth Saturday of the month event. Around a dozen restaurants on N. Main Street place tables outside on the sidewalk so diners can enjoy eating outdoors as well as listening to the live music. The art galleries and specialty will remain open offering patrons a chance to browse while waiting for a table or walking off dinner - SORRY, NO COOLERS ALLOWED.

Southern Illinois University Carbondale and other locations throughout Southern Illinois
The annual Southern Illinois Music festival features dozens of performances in venues from Mt. Vernon to Cairo and Murphysboro to Marion with the Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, the heart of the Festival.  Musicians from throughout North and South America, Europe, and Asia perform orchestral and chamber music, opera, ballet, jazz, and new music in an informal and inviting atmosphere. These special events delight young and old alike.

An outdoor "musical rendezvous" where acoustic musicians get together to jam with each other and play for the public. Traditional bluegrass, old-time country, folk, blues, old time river, and "ho-down" music. Jam sessions under every tree, kids arts and crafts, and a professional sound system for the main stage (the porch of the 1740 Cahokia Courthouse) for the enjoyment of all.  Food and drink are available for purchase, and there's plenty of shade.

This annual concert is held in Missouri’s first Legislative chambers, lit entirely by candles, where visitors will be treated to period Christmas tunes and stories to get them in the Christmas spirit. Musical entertainment is Buckhannon Brothers with traditional Christmas music, Contemporary Christmas music and traditional old time music. A meet & greet reception will be held after the concert.
