The Arts Council’s purpose is to encourage and develop the arts by creating public awareness of county arts activities and to foster communication among visual, performing and literary arts groups. The Council achieves these goals by sponsoring meetings, exhibits, workshops, cooperative displays, and art shows and by aiding individual members and organizations in their efforts to create art awareness and activities in the county.

The Broadway Center of Arts is a center for performing and visual arts offering classes, gallery space, and a performance stage. In the studio a professional staff offers many dance, theatre, and arts classes at all levels. In the gallery new exhibits open the first Friday of each month. On stage, a wide variety of performances are presented throughout the year.
