to view up close. Be sure to bring your camera.
After this personal encounter you can pick up an official All Around
Alton Eagle Watcher's Guide and set off along the Great River Road to
see eagles in their natural habitat.

Riverlands Migratory Bird Sanctuary
Join the Center staff and
volunteers for a nature walk in search of birds! The walk will leave
from the Center at 8 am, and take a short drive to a few locations
in the Sanctuary and surrounding areas. Please dress for the weather
and bring a bottle of water for the walk.
If you have binoculars, be sure to bring them along too! This
walk is a family friendly event suitable for beginners as well as
seasoned birders. The walk is scheduled to end around 10 am, but you
are welcome to leave earlier or stay later.

Registration begins at 7 am; run begins at 8 am; walk begins at 8:15 am
3rd & Belle Streets
Are you up for the challenge? Sign-up for the annual 5-mile competitive
run up to the top of the Mississippi River bluffs and back, or 2-mile
walk up to Riverview Park and back on the 5-mile course. The race starts
at the corner of Belle & 3rd Street and finishes at Belle & 4th Street.
This beautiful route is hilly and scenic. Post-race refreshments &
awards ceremony will be held at Mac's Time Out on Belle Street (near
race finish line) immediately following the race. Awards will be given
in each age category.
