Sponsored by the Elsberry Chamber of Commerce this event features 150 entries of all make, model and vintage. Additional activities include a city wide yard sale, an Alumni Banquet, and food and fun for everyone. Proceeds benefit the City of Elsberry and local schools.

Palmyra Heritage Day features living history activities from the early 1800's through the mid 1900's with storytelling, demonstrations, and displays. Handmade arts/crafts and music will be part of the day's celebration.  Food items will also be available for purchase in the late afternoon and early evening

CHILI COOKOFF

Apple Shed, Southside of Clarksville on MO-79
Sanctioned by the International Chili Society this event brings cooks from all over the country to the banks of the Mississippi River in Clarksville to compete for the opportunity to cook in the World Cookoff in Reno Nevada. Samples of chili's are served to the public throughout the day. Drawings for door prizes, music, food and beverages.
$3 at the gate, tickets will be sold to sample chili, beverages and food.

Visit Clarksville for our annual celebration of art and sunflowers.  Come and see painters work live as they capture the beauty of this architecturally rich downtown historic district, the amazing river landscape or SUNFLOWERS! Clarksville visitors will enjoy shopping in the local artists shops, watching the painters work and voting for their favorite painting on Sunday.  Enjoy our beautiful town, the sunflowers, shopping, an iced coffee or lunch, take pictures of our town and please stay over for the judging!

Hannibal Historic District, Riverfront and Central Parks
Sponsored by the Hannibal Jaycees, this family oriented event is now in its 50th year. Activities include frog jumping, mud volleyball, Tom and Becky Contest, parade, Tomboy Sawyer Contest, 10-kilometer run, arts and crafts show and fireworks launched from the banks of the Mississippi River. Highlights include National Fence Painting Contest and a huge fireworks display launched from the banks of the Mississippi River on the evening of the Fourth.

The focus of this event is threshing- the beating of the seeds from grain. APPLEFEST

Bring your family and friends and enjoy a beautiful autumn drive along scenic Highway 79 and spend the day in Clarksville while enjoying the annual Applefest activities. Start the day on Saturday at 10 am with the Applefest parade. Afterwards browse the many crafters and vendors throughout town. Enter the Apple Bake-off contest with your favorite baked apple dish. You are invited to visit Clarksville’s shops and watch some of Missouri’s best working artists. Delight in a stroll along the Mississippi River while enjoying a tasty treat from the Riverfront Food Court. Schwan’s will be hosting a Chamber Fundraiser at River Front Park. The annual art show is located in the historic Appleshed and the historic Elgin/Cottrell House will be open for guided tours during the festival.

TASTE OF PALMYRA

This annual event began as a trick or treat event for the children and had expanded into a festival. Besides trick or treating there will be a Kids Costume Parade on stage, pumpkin carving, Kids hourly giveaways. The event features food vendors providing tasty treats and arts and crafts and specialty artists displaying their works. Main Street will also play host to a variety of games for children with a is a small donation admission to benefit Parents as Teachers. Heritage Seekers, Palmyra's historical society, will hold tours of the Old Civil Jail, built in 1858 and used as a federal prison during the Civil War, with period reenactors on hand.
