Sanctioned by the International Chili Society this event brings
cooks from all over the country to the banks of the Mississippi
River in Clarksville to compete for the opportunity to cook in the
World Cookoff in Reno Nevada. Samples of chili's are served to the
public throughout the day. Drawings for door prizes, music, food
and beverages.
$3 at the gate, tickets will be sold to sample chili, beverages
and food.

now in its 50th year. Activities include frog jumping, mud
volleyball, Tom and Becky Contest, parade, Tomboy Sawyer Contest,
10-kilometer run, arts and crafts show and fireworks launched from
the banks of the Mississippi River. Highlights include National
Fence Painting Contest and a huge fireworks display launched from
the banks of the Mississippi River on the evening of the Fourth.

APPLEFEST

Bake-off contest with your favorite baked apple dish. You are
invited to visit Clarksville’s shops and watch some of
Missouri’s best working artists. Delight in a stroll along the

Riverfront Food Court. Schwan’s will be hosting a Chamber
Fundraiser at River Front Park. The annual art show is located
in the historic Appleshed and the historic
Elgin/Cottrell House will be open for guided tours during

had expanded into a festival. Besides trick or treating there will

Main Street will also play host to a variety of games for children
with a is a small donation admission to benefit Parents as Teachers.
Heritage Seekers, Palmyra's historical society, will hold tours of
the Old Civil Jail, built in 1858 and used as a federal prison
during the Civil War, with period reenactors on hand.
