Each year, the festival will focus on one of Mark Twain’s beloved books – 2009 brings “A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur’s Court” to Main Street. Hannibal Historic District, Riverfront and Central Parks
Sponsored by the Hannibal Jaycees, this family oriented event is now in its 50th year. Activities include frog jumping, mud volleyball, Tom and Becky Contest, parade, Tomboy Sawyer Contest, 10-kilometer run, arts and crafts show and fireworks launched from the banks of the Mississippi River. Highlights include National Fence Painting Contest and a huge fireworks display launched from the banks of the Mississippi River on the evening of the Fourth.
