WESTERN ILLINOIS FAIR

Western Illinois Fairgrounds, 801 South Wall Street
Come and enjoy a fun filled weekend to renew old acquaintances and make new ones in Griggsville.  On Friday evening enjoy the pageants and contests then return on Saturday for the magnificent mile parade and musical entertainment.  There are livestock exhibits, arts and crafts exhibits, and of course demolition derbies including the School Bus Demo Derby on Saturday night. A variety of food stands, crafts, and flea market booths are available.

CIVIL WAR REENACTMENT
Pittsfield, IL
  June 6 - June 7, 2015
Lake Pittsfield, 2 miles east of US-54 on Road 1600-N (north of Pittsfield, just before the airport)
You are invited to historic Pittsfield to experience this annual living history event. Watch as individuals in Union and Confederate encampments participate in military drills, along with a ladies tea, fashion shows, and performances by President and Mrs. Lincoln. Throughout the weekend there will be many quality period vendors, children's games, period crafts and demonstrations, and exhibits of local history.

GATES FAMILY BLUEGRASS FESTIVAL

Barry, IL

Enjoy great traditional country music, food and fun! Festivities begin Friday night with a potluck dinner at 5 pm; music begins at 7 pm. Saturday competitions start at 9 am and run all day until about 9:30 pm. Sunday church service at 8:30 am, competitions resume at 9 am and will run all day. Food and camping available

ANNUAL KINDERHOOK PICNIC

This annual picnic celebrates the founding of Kinderhook. There will be plenty of pork chops, ribeye sandwiches and homemade desserts. The event also features an Antique Car and Tractor and playground for kids.

PIKE COUNTY PIG DAYS

For more than 25 years Pittsfield has celebrated Pike County's large pork industry with their annual Pig Days festival. In honor of the pig there are activities such as longest pig tail contest and hog calling contests. There are arts and crafts, kids games, and live entertainment. And as you would expect, food stands offer some tasty pork specialties

PIKE COUNTY FAIR

The Pike County Fair features all the attractions normally associated with county fair. Features are top rated society horse shows, tractor pulls, pageants, and carnival attractions. The weekend also features live entertainment and a talent show on Saturday and a mud bog on Sunday.

BAYLIS HIGHPOINT
GLORY DAYS FESTIVAL

Come and enjoy a fun filled weekend to renew old acquaintances and make new ones.  At 5 pm on Friday enjoy the start of the Festival with the parade of Marshals followed by the prince, princess, Jr. Miss and Queen Pageants and the Jr. and Sr. Farm King contest along with the Sour Prune Jr. and Sr. contest. A street dance follows the contests. Saturday morning there will be the Baby, Lil Miss and Mister Tiny Tot, and Lil Miss and Mister Pageants beginning at 9 am. A Car and bike ride will start at 9 and return at 2 pm for a parade followed by more entertainment. A chicken and fish fry will be held from 4 pm - 7:30 pm or until food runs out plus food and refreshments will be available throughout the day. There will live entertainment beginning at 7 pm. There will be vendors for crafts and flea market booths both days.

HULL TOWN PICNIC

Friday Evening and all day Saturday
Since 1932 the community gathers for a variety of delicious chicken dinner and a full day of family fun including children's activities. Friday night starts with the Jr. Miss & Miss Hull competitions, food and refreshments, and live entertainment. Things get started again on Saturday with the annual Hull of a Race, a run to raise awareness for Parkinsonís Disease. Baby, Miss and Master Tiny Tot, and Little Mr. and Little Miss contests are held in the morning. A parade starts at 1 pm and afterwards there will be games, activities, and food all day, as well as a pet show, talent show and live entertainment. The Hull Lionís Club supper begins at 4 pm.

VIN FIZ FESTIVAL

This annual festival was inspired by the reenactment of Cal Rodgers' first transcontinental flight and features a pageants and contest, food, stage entertainment, kids' games and rides, a car show, and a parade.

PERRY PIONEER DAYS

Town Square
This annual event, in one of Pike County's smallest communities, provides fun for everyone. Saturdayís activities kick off will town-wide yard sales beginning at 8 am. Pioneer Days activities kick off at 9 am with the Jr. Miss Perry Pageant, Little Mr. & Miss Perry, Baby Contest, Chicken Dinner, Live Entertainment, Big Parade/Kiddie Parade, Antique Tractor Show, Hay Scramble, Balloon Toss, Kiddie Tractor Pull, Pie Eating Contest, Jr. Variety Talent Show, Fish Supper, Teen Dance and Saturday night entertainment by a live band. On Sunday, enjoy a Community Church in Perry Park at 9 am (bring a lawn chair). The charity Rainbow Run begins at 2 pm.

BARRY APPLE FESTIVAL

LaFayette Park
This annual event is one of the largest festivals in the area and celebrates everything apple in the quaint, historic town of Barry. A parade winds through the city where local music bands and a crafts show entertain visitors. Apple pies, ice cream and strudels are all specialties. Old-time crafts, local bluegrass band performances and a car show complete the weekend.

Every fall the Pike County Color Drive provides visitors with the opportunity to see the beauty of the rural areas of the county bathed in the splendor of autumn. Nearly every community in the county participates in Illinoisí premier countywide event. Each community provides a unique roster of events, activities, vendors, crafts, food, and exhibits for the general public to take part in. The countyís historic towns transport its visitors to a time when one-room schoolhouses and country churches dotted the landscape. Watch horse-drawn plows in the fields, take a break and carve a pumpkin, or see cider and apple butter being made. Maps and brochures with detailed information can be accessed at the website below.
