St. Charles celebrates the holidays with festivities that include caroling, chestnut roasting, authentically costumed Santas from around the world, and a Santa Parade each weekend. Visitors will find candlelight shopping and dining Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday evenings as the shops and restaurants on South Main Street stay open until 9pm as well as special activities beginning at 6:30.

CANDLELIGHT CONCERT

First Missouri Capitol State Historic Site, 200-216 S. Main Street
"Papa and Jackie Wright" with  will narrate and perform "The History of Christmas Music" in this candlelight concert . This warm holiday show with marimbas, drums, and various instruments will leave you with the holiday spirit. Lit entirely by candles, the concert is held in the legislative chambers.

FETE DE GLACE

BICYCLE RIDE

Start the cycling season with an easy pedal on the flat terrain of the St. Charles floodplain between the Missouri and Mississippi Rivers. There are routes of various distances with the longer routes stopping at Portage des Sioux and the Marais Temps Clair Conservation Areas.

This annual festival features an authentic reenactment of Lewis & Clark's encampment in 1804 prior to their journey up the Missouri River. Also featured are reenactor encampments, Fife and Drum Corps demonstrations, boat replicas, museum tours, and 19th century crafts.

Historic Downtown St. Charles District
North Main Street is closed off for the evening for this fourth Saturday of the month event. Around a dozen restaurants on N. Main Street place tables outside on the sidewalk so diners can enjoy eating outdoors as well as listening to the live music. The art galleries and specialty will remain open offering patrons a chance to browse while waiting for a table or walking off dinner.

Like many community theater groups Backstage Productions auditions local thespians and puts on plays for all to see, but this group is quite different than most organizations. They only put on new plays, so everyone in the audience can be absolutely sure that the play, musical, or one act production they are seeing is the very first time it has ever been produced. They think that if someone has written a play, it should absolutely be produced somewhere. This summer's season features 7 productions.

All proceeds benefit Community Living’s programs and services for people with disabilities.

Frontier Park
Greenway Network, a non-profit citizens action group, is hosting two canoe and kayak races on the scenic Missouri River, a staged-event covering 65 miles from Washington Missouri to the Confluence and an Adventure Race from Weldon Spring to Frontier Park in St. Charles. The organization is also hosting the Race For the Rivers Festival at Frontier Park which will feature adventure and outdoor sports vendors and environmental educational displays and activities. Between the live bands, the hands-on art , environmental activities, and educational displays the festival will be a great place to hang out and wait for the racers to cross the flying finish line at the park.

Kuk Sool Won Martial Arts and St. Charles City Parks Tae Kwon Do will hold their seventh annual Martial Arts Benefit Exhibition features demonstrations of various martial arts techniques.  Police officers, firemen, and veterans in attendance will be thanked and recognized for their service to the country.
$3 per person.  All proceeds from admission go directly to three area nonprofits: the St. Louis Backstoppers, Paralyzed Veterans of America, and Community Living.

St. Charles is the place to be as The Life is good Company takes over Frontier Park with a free, day-long festival featuring an amazing music lineup, great food and good-time games and activities for all ages spread all across the park. National recording artist Brett Dennen, rising star Erin McCarley and family favorite SteveSongs are scheduled to perform. Funds raised through a fun-filled 4K walk in the morning, public donations, and all profits from the sale of Life is good merchandise at the event benefit Project Joy, a grassroots nonprofit helping to heal and strengthen Greater St. Louis’ poorest, most vulnerable preschoolers.
