Historic Saint Charles Downtown District
Saint Charles celebrates the holidays with festivities that include caroling, chestnut roasting, authentically costumed Santas from around the world, and a Santa Parade each weekend. Visitors will find candlelight shopping and dining Wednesday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday evenings as the shops and restaurants on South Main Street stay open until 9 pm as well as special activities beginning at 6:30 pm.

Given Form is a juried exhibition that was open to artists working in any sculptural media; including but not limited to paper, wire, clay, wood, metal, glass, plastic, and fiber.  Artists were invited to explore themes of their choosing, as long as the work is sculptural. Come and see all the interesting sculptural pieces. The oil on panel paintings of Bonnie Murray will be featured in "Shape & Shadow" in the Emerging Artists Series in the Ameristar Gallery.

FETE DE GLACE

Fete de Glace (The Festival of Ice) is an outdoor ice-carving competition where skilled carvers from around the region turn blocks of ice into amazing creations while spectators watch the ice chips fly. Coffee, hot chocolate, and fire pits are available to keep everybody warm.

RUSH 5K BENEFIT RUN

This out-and-back race will take place, rain or shine, on the flat and fast Katy Trail Fleet Feet will professionally time runners and walkers in the 5K. Awards for Overall and Top 3 Finishers will be given in each age group. The kid’s races, which will take place after the 5K, will include a one mile fun run and hero-themed obstacle course. All kid’s race participants will receive a participation ribbon and a cape. A bounce house will be available for participants and spectators 12 and under (weather permitting). RIVERS FESTIVAL

Greenway Network, a non-profit citizens action group, is hosting two canoe and kayak races on the scenic Missouri River, a staged-event covering 65 miles from Washington Missouri to the Confluence and an Adventure Race from Weldon Spring to Frontier Park in St. Charles. The organization is also hosting the Race For the Rivers Festival at Frontier Park from which will feature adventure and outdoor sports vendors and environmental educational displays and activities. Between the live bands, the hands-on art, environmental activities, and educational displays the festival will be a great place to hang out and wait for the racers to cross the flying finish line at the park.

This annual concert is held in Missouri’s first Legislative chambers, lit entirely by candles, where visitors will be treated to period Christmas tunes and stories to get them in the Christmas spirit.
