professional and amateur area artists displaying up to three of
their original works in all mediums. Prizes will be awarded in
various categories. The show is open to amateur and professional
artists. All artists will be judged by category only.

"Occupation! A Community at War" reenacts the how the Civil
War effected the lives of the every Missourian. In Missouri, the
question of supporting the Union, or the newly formed
Confederacy, was not as easily answered as in other areas of the
country. From the beginning of the was, this conflict spilled
over into the lives of everyone. Citizens of this quiet
community first come to terms with having Union soldiers occupy
their village. Visitors will have the chance to speak with men
and women making difficult decisions and fearing the worst, yet
having to go on with the daily activities needed for maintaining
and sustaining life..

THE RIVERS
CENTURY BICYCLE RIDE

includes flat to rolling hills with some big hills. This ride

The Greater Augusta Chamber of Commerce hosts the
Augusta Plein Air Event that has become one of the largest plein
air events in the Midwest. In previous years over 100 artists from
6 states participated in this 10-day event. For the artists
there will be a contest with prizes and an opportunity to sell
their art. For the public this is an opportunity to chat with the
artists and watch them work during a variety of special events.
There will be an art sale and auction on Saturday, May 2nd.

GREAT RIVER RENDEZVOUS

Begins in Grafton and ends at the Riverlands Migratory Bird
Sanctuary in West Alton, IL
Be a part of the first-ever canoe and kayak race on the Mississippi
River. Rendezvous in Grafton where the race will begin at 10a.m.
Then, race your way 20 miles down river to the end of the race at
Ellis Bay in West Alton, MO. Clubs, shops and spectators are invited
to attend. In addition to the race, there will social paddles,
skills clinics, family paddles, food and music.
There is a small registration fee with all proceeds going to the
Treehouse Wildlife Center of Madison County. To pre-register, go to
