The Greater Augusta Chamber of Commerce hosts the
Augusta Plein Air Event that has become one of the largest plein
air events in the Midwest. In previous years over 100 artists from
6 states participated during the 10-day event. For the artists
there will be a contest with prizes and an opportunity to sell
their art. For the public this is an opportunity to chat with the
artists and watch them work during a variety of special events.
There will be an art sale and auction on Saturday, May 3rd.

Experience the sounds of a late winter evening
during a moderate hike. Listen and watch for Timberdoodles
(American Woodcock) performing their courtship display shortly
after sunset. This "nature show" belongs to one of the
strangest members of the bird world. Spring Peepers may also be
performing their courtship songs from the small ponds along the
2-mile trail. Bring a small flashlight, warm clothing and hiking
boots, and water.

required by March 14. Ages 10 and up.
