Belleville's Gingerbread Walk is a self-guided tour through downtown where you can explore the art of many area residents who took the time to plan, create, and build award-winning gingerbread creations. There are entries from people in every age group: Some are elaborate, some are simple, and all are special. These gingerbread creations are displayed in downtown merchant windows starting at the Square on East and West Main Streets.

WEIHNACHTS FESTIVAL

This Christmas Festival celebrates Millstadt's German heritage and features an arts and crafts fair, a Holiday Cookie Walk, and musical entertainment including German folk music provided by the Waterloo German Band. St. Nicholas arrives in a parade at Noon. Children are invited to visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus. There will be plenty of German food and refreshments including bratwurst and potato cakes.

A VIP ticket is $45 and includes entry into Ale Fest an hour before general public, food vouchers, and a souvenir sampling glass. General admission is $25 and includes entrance at 4 p.m. and a sampling glass. A designated driver ticket is $10. There will be food vendors and music by the Jeremiah Johnson Band. Parking will be available on premise and a free shuttle will run from the Memorial Metrolink Station to the event.

Guest authors will be on hand to answer questions about this glass. A great lunch menu will be available for those of you who work up an appetite while shopping. The Exposition Hall is air-conditioned and handicapped accessible.

This traditional county fair has been ongoing since 1854 and features a carnival, livestock showing in barns, air conditioned exposition hall filled with exhibits and vendors, nightly stage entertainment, beer garden, and fair food. There is also exciting events in the arena including stock car racing, demo derby, midget car races, and motorcycle races.

You might want to skip dinner before you head over to Midwest Wingfest 2014. There's certainly no shortage of food at the annual chicken wing festival and competition. Midwest Wingfest has dozens of varieties of chicken wings for everyone to try. If you don't mind getting a little messy, you can try your luck at the chicken wing eating contest on Saturday afternoon. You'll find other food at Midwest Wingfest including pulled pork and chili dogs, plus plenty of cold beer to wash it all down. In addition to the food, there's music, games and a kids play area with swings and slides.
