This festival features great music, performers,
and arts and crafts. Other activities include a Kids Corner, a
Miss Hillsboro contest, a Washer Tournament, Eating Contest, a
Kids Demo Derby, a parade, and a carnival.

STRAWBERRY FESTIVAL

Downtown Kimmswick
During the first weekend in June Kimmswick is
overflowing with strawberries. If it is made with strawberries you
will find it at this festival. Craft and food vendors line the
streets as live entertainers perform at several areas throughout
town and there is an area filled with rides for the kids. This is
a great event for the whole family to enjoy!
Free. Park at the Windsor School and catch a shuttle
bus into town.

to the Jefferson County Fairgrounds and get in on the Rodeo
action! Events at the rodeo include bareback riding, steer
wrestling, saddle bronco riding, calf roping, team roping,
cowgirls barrel racing and bull riding. Between 5 pm and 8 pm
there are food vendors, pony rides, a petting zoo, and product
concessions. Featured musical entertainment follows the rodeo.

APPLE BUTTER FESTIVAL

Downtown Kimmswick
The Apple Butter Festival is the largest event in
Jefferson County. Hundreds of vendor booths will fill the city
park and line the streets of Kimmswick selling a variety of crafts
and food items. The city of Kimmswick and the Kimmswick Merchants
will also be providing live entertainment. The Kimmswick
Historical Society will again be making and selling their famous
Apple Butter at the Apple Butter Pavilion on Market Street.

crafts, storytelling, Chicken' & Dumplin’s dinner, croquignoles
(French pastry made fresh on site), lots of home baked goodies, and
lots more. Visit a historical display in the old Maplewood School
house, see live demonstrations, trace your ancestors, purchase
historical publications, visit the country store, stir the apple
butter, wander the grounds, and enjoy a relaxing day with music
provided by internationally known Illinois native Dennis Stroughmatt
et’ E’Spirit Creole.

A tree lighting ceremony in front of the Visitor Center at 5pm
hosted by Santa Claus. All of the shops in town will be serving
refreshments. Carolers will be strolling the streets and a horse
drawn trolley will be on-hand for free rides throughout town.
