VIETNAM VETERANS TRAVELING WALL DeSoto, MO		May 7 - May 12, 2008 Mahn Funeral Homes, 900 N. Main Street The Vietnam Veterans Traveling Wall is a half-scale replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C., designed to travel to communities throughout the United States. OPERATION W.A.V.E. Kimmswick, MO		May 24 - May 25, 2008 8 am - 5 pm Downtown Kimmswick Operation W.A.V.E. (We Appreciate our Veterans Event) is Kimmswick's annual salute to the nation's veterans and features WWII vehicles on display including Jeeps, Staff Vehicles and Half Tracks. The “2nd Rangers” will join-in with a Weapons and Ammunition Display, along with an encampment. HOMECOMING FESTIVAL Hillsboro, MO		May 30 - May 31, 2008 Friday: 6 pm - 12:30 pm Saturday: 11 am - 12:30 pm Downtown Hillsboro This festival features great music, performers, and arts and crafts. Other activities include a Kids Corner, a Miss Hillsboro contest, a Washer Tournament, Eating Contest, a Kids Demo Derby, a parade, and a carnival. Free For more information call 636-789-4920
STRAWBERRY FESTIVAL Kimmswick, MO		June 7 - June 8, 2008 10 am - 5 pm Downtown Kimmswick During the first weekend in June Kimmswick is overflowing with strawberries. If it is made with strawberries you will find it at this festival. Craft and food vendors line the streets as live entertainers perform at several areas throughout town and there is an area filled with rides for the kids. JEFFERSON COUNTY FAIR Hillsboro, MO		July 17 - July 20, 2008 10349 Highway 29 Concerts - large and small, monster trucks, FMX demonstrations, a demolition derby, carnival rides & games, contests, crafts, food & drinks, and more - the Fair has something for kids, teens, and adults! APPLE BUTTER FESTIVAL Kimmswick, MO		October 25 - October 26, 2008 10 am - 5 pm Downtown Kimmswick The Apple Butter Festival is the largest event in Jefferson County. Hundreds of vendor booths will fill the city park and line the streets of Kimmswick selling a variety of crafts and food items. The city of Kimmswick and the Kimmswick Merchants will also be providing live entertainment. The Kimmswick Historical Society will again be making and selling their famous Apple Butter at the Apple Butter Pavilion on Market Street. Free. CHRISTMAS OPEN HOUSE Kimmswick, MO		November 22, 2008 10 am - 9 pm Downtown Kimmswick Kimmswick will be filled with the sights and sounds of the holidays and ready for you and your family to enjoy. A tree lighting ceremony in front of the Visitor Center at 5pm hosted by Santa Claus. All of the shops in town will be serving refreshments. CHRISTMAS IN KIMMSWICK Kimmswick, MO		December 5 - December 7, 2008 Friday: 10 am - 9 pm Saturday: 10 am - 9 pm Sunday: 10 am - 6 pm Downtown Kimmswick Enjoy the sights and sounds of Christmas in Kimmswick. The shops will be decked out in their holiday splendor, carolers will be strolling the streets, and horse drawn carriage rides will carry you back to a time gone by.
