The Immaculate Conception Church in Kaskaskia, Illinois traces its roots back to Pere Marquette, the legendary 17th century explorer of the Mississippi River. Every year hundreds of people join in the festivities as the Church holds its annual picnic in one of the oldest towns in Illinois and the only Illinois community located west of the Mississippi River.

Church Open House: 11 am to 5:30 pm
Guides will be present in the Church of the Immaculate Conception for visitors that would like to look at the latest improvements and historic exhibits. The newly restored organ will be played at intervals throughout the day.

Sign up 7:15 - 7:50 am, event begins at 8 am
$12 entry fee ($10 if pre-registered by August 28)

The Picnic features the usual great picnic attractions under lots of shade trees plus:

Horseshoe Tournament - 11:45 am is the deadline for this double elimination, sign up for partners competition. Entry fee is $5. For more information call Craig Doza at 573-883-9165.

Picnic Drawing - Proceeds to maintain the historic Kaskaskia Church and Cemetery. Prizes include $500 Cash, Queen Size Quilt designed by Rosalie Grogg, Hand-Crocheted Table Cloth, Gift Certificates, $50 Cash, and a hand-woven basket by D & D Baskets.

Other attractions include a Cash & Quilt Bingo (BL-50120,) Great Skills Game, Plants and Crafts, Country Store, T-Shirts, Food (Brats, Sausage, Bar-B-Q, Kabobs, Hamburgers) Drinks, Other Refreshments, and much more!

Antique & Out of Field Tractor Pull
4 General Classes include Antique, Modified Antique, Out of Field, and Powder Puff. There is no Illinois Farmers Class. Weigh in Time is 9 am and Starting Time is 11 am. @ Sleds and 2 Tracks with Trophies and cash prizes. Jump-up 1 Class and Cannot Jump Down. Weigh with Driver on Tractor. $10 Entry Fee.

Street Stock Truck Pull
6,000 & 7,000 lb. Classes
26 in. Draw bar height. Trucks must be street stock and street driven.

The Immaculate Conception Church is located on what is called Kaskaskia Island, the only community in Illinois that is west of the Mississippi River. To reach the Immaculate Conception Church, take MO-61 to St. Mary, Missouri south of Sainte Genevieve and follow the signs near the grain elevator to Kaskaskia.
