Clay County is a predominantly rural area with small cities and towns. The county is divided by Crowley’s Ridge with most of the county consisting of bottomland. Clay County boasts a number of attractions and annual events. Chalk Bluff saw action during the Civil War. Annual events include a Fourth of July picnic in Piggott and a Labor Day picnic in Rector.
