Lincoln County is located at the southern end of a geological formation known as the Lincoln Hills. The Lincoln Hills region was not affected as much during the last ice age glaciers pushed down through northern Missouri and flattened the landscape giving rise to the hills that create the rugged the “Ozarklike” terrain evident today. Cuivre River State Park is located between Troy and Moscow Mills, the park is one of the state’s largest and most rugged parks. The community of Elsberry offers visitors small town charm.
