Five local craft breweries in southwest Illinois are collaborating on a week of fun and beer during the Great Rivers & Routes Craft Beer Week. From Old Herald Brewery and Distillery in Collinsville, to Recess Brewing and Peel Brewing Company in Edwardsville to Old Bakery Beer Company in Alton and Opera House Brewing in Hillsboro, Craft Beer Week celebrates that dedication, highlighting the best the area has to offer in the craft beer scene. So, grab your friends and a beer at all of the participating breweries. The kickoff for the week of beer celebrations is the Craft Brew Fest at Old Herald Square in Collinsville. Sample more than 40 different beers, coffee from local roasters, enjoy live music and shop from local vendors on Saturday October 15 from Noon to 4 pm. Tickets are required.
